Now
What has my attention this month. The rest of the site is the record. This page is the present tense, and it changes whenever something on it stops being true.
- Work
- Started at Elective on 19 October, working on strategy and special projects. For the first few weeks that mostly means listening: how the business works, who knows what, and where I can be useful soonest.
- Learning
- French, from the very beginning, a little every day starting this month.
- Writing
- The moment was not available, on deciding to shut down Optima, is up. Next: the three-variable model I over-built to pick the World Cup winner. It picked Spain, which proves less than it sounds.
- Outside
- Running the Seawall when the rain allows, commuting on a customized Diamondback, and slowly bringing a Game Boy Advance SP back to life.
The log

A now page, in the spirit of nownownow.com, with a log underneath so the record keeps itself. Last updated 19 October 2026.
